Title: What is this thing in the battery compartment?
Post by: Jason Worman on April 30, 2020, 02:21:42 AM
Hi again,

So I have attached a picture of a round hub with all wires in the battery compartment attached to it. I am guessing it is some kind of a grounding device. It is attached to the top of the battery compartment. It is rounded in the back and no wires come off it. Anyone know what this might be?

Thanks
Jason

To me it looks like a hi-amp relay, looks like it has 12volt in and 12 volt out with a couple control wires.

Jason, you state "there are no wires coming off of it" I am confused, your picture shows 2 - 2/0 cables and 3- 14 gauge wires coming off it. It appears to be a 200 amp boost solenoid. Fred

Fred's correct. It's the start boost solenoid.

Thank you, to me a newbie the wires appear to terminate at the device. :)

Jason,
Check out the 94-95 Patriot Service Manual located in Coach Assist wiring diagrams. It shows components, locations, and major wiring that should be fairly representative of your coach.
