« on: July 08, 2021, 09:05:06 PM »
My refrigerator was working fine then the freezer part went up to 24 it was staying around 2 or 3 then went up and will not go below 24 but the refrigerator part is working fine it is at 33, things in the freezer part that were already in there stay frozen but if you put any thing in it won't freeze
anyone ever have this problem or know the cause

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve. Not sure if I can help but is the freezer acting the same on electric and propane?

   Steve,
Sounds like the freezer could be stuck in the "defrost cycle" because of ice stuck in the freezer drain tube. Call Dometic and maybe they can walk you thru it. Fred

Have to agree with Fred.  Symptoms like yours are often a case of an ice-plugged defrost drain in the back of the unit.  Should be easier to rectify than the hard-to-access @*#! drain system on our home Samsung-built GE.

Putting contents in a cooler under ice while the fridge is shut down to let the drain thaw, hot water dribbled slowly down it, and/or patience with a hairdryer on the drain are all possible.  But the hairdryer technique can warp plastic panels and parts and I wouldn’t go that route.  As Fred suggests, consult Dometic first.
