RVA J II 22.5A Jack solenoids
« on: September 16, 2022, 08:03:18 PM »
I have a 1998 Patriot Savannah and twice now my right rear RVA jack will not retract on its own.  Not that big of a deal as I can open the manual release valve and it will retract under the spring pressure.  All the jacks extend as they should.

Thinking through this problem, the solenoids attached to the valve assembly should open up to let the hydraulic fluid back into the reservoir which will allow the Jack to raise.

I believe that the right rear one must be sticking and not allowing the fluid to escape.

Does anyone know where to buy that solenoid?  Anyone have a brand or part number for it?

As a side note, for what ever reason it is the center relief valve that lets my right rear jack retract, not the bottom one that is shown in all the diagrams that I have
On the RVA website they list a RVA-SC-01 Original pump solenoid coil 12 volt. Is this the correct part?  They also show a diagram with a Poppet valve that I don't see listed.  Does anyone know the part that I need?

Thanks for any help.

I had to replace one on my unit last winter assuming you have an RVA 22.5 system the proper retract valve is #86030445-1

Hope this helps

Thanks Eric,

I just heard back from RVA and their advise was to switch out the coil with one of the others and if the problem followed the coil the coil was bad.  It would be the RVA-SC-01 coil.

If it stays with the same jack it is the  Retract valve (stem Only) solenoid 86030445-1-   for 16/22.5/32

That's exactly how I diagnosed mine but my unit was leaking down so I traded valve cores and it turned out to be the valve itself .
With yours being an intermediate ( no retract ) it makes sense to trade the coils and see what happens.
