Front Slides and Generator Slide Inop
« on: May 15, 2023, 01:48:15 AM »
We have a 2008 Contessa.  Today, while extending the curbside slide, there was a table leg under the sofa that made the slide stop. Now neither of the two front slides, nor the generator slide will go in or out.

I have followed the advice found in the forum.  The ANL fuses appear to be intact but I cannot find the hydraulic slide motor to try and reset the thermal breaker.  It is supposed to be in the aqua hot bay but there is nothing above the aqua hot by a light.  Forward of that is the fuel tank.  I cannot find a fuse or circuit breaker shown in any diagram in the owners manual or the plethora of documents I received when I purchased the coach.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

On my 07 Contessa, F42 in the front electrical bay is for the  front hydraulics (but may only be for hydraulic jacks)  and F3 in the toilet box should be for the rear elec driven slides. Wiring diagrams are in coach assist.
The Lippert slide control should be mounted on a plate above the Aqua Hot on the front wall of the bay of like an 07.

Hi Steve,

We don’t have hydraulic jacks.  Our leveling uses the airbag suspension.  I checked F42 anyway and it is good.

The aqua hot bay does not have anything in it but the aqua hot unit, its control module and the fuel filter mounted above it and on the forward bulkhead.

I read elsewhere that the pump may be on the firewall forward of the wheels.  This would make no sense as you would need to extend the generator slide in order to access it.

Check the firewall as it made absolutely no sense above the AH as it was impossible to access it without dropping the complete assy. I've got trouble with mine now and am taking it to a shop after I get off the road.

Not sure how to access the firewall with the generator slide in.

Peter, Our 07 Contessa has a hydrolic breaker in the aqua bay next to the hydrolic reservoir on the wall. I have attached a photo my wife took to help explain it's location. When tripped it controls front slides and generator slide

Peter. Suggest posting you hydrolic pump location question on the Beaver Facebook forum from other 08 Contessa owners.

The pump is reached by extending the generator slide (stupid place to put pump), I had a bad pump and only got the generator to extend by banging on the pump motor with a hammer until it worked enough to move the gen. slide.
My problem was a bad hydrolic pump motor.
The only other way that I know of is to release the hydrolic hoses and manualy pull the generator out.
Hope this helps.

PROBLEM SOLVED

On our 2008 Contessa, the hydraulic pump for the front slides and generator slide is located on the firewall, driver’s side about waist high.  There is a resettable breaker above it on the firewall as well.  We disconnected the hydraulic ram for the generator slide and manually moved the generator forward to access the breaker.  Once reset, everything worked.
