diesel gnerator fuel leak
« on: June 01, 2012, 11:44:06 PM »
Hi folks: just had service at Bend and developed a leak from the fuel lines that were either not tightened enough or were cross threaded.  Can't get to Bend so will give a shot at tightening them myself.  What size flare wrenches will I need?  Anyone?  Once again the engineers have put the filter in the damndest place where it is virtually impossible to get one's hand.  Ergo the fuel leak.

Thanks

If you picked up a set that covered 5/8 plus or minus you would be in the ballpark. This is the number for Cummins Service NW in Spokane. They should know for sure. 800-825-2122  I have had that same leak with a filter change and tightening the flare resolved it.

If you had signed up for the Sisters rally, we could get you fixed up!

Neil: I had the same leak, and I replaced the filter myself. Had to go back under and and give those fittings just a little more "umph". It was a year ago and I believe it was 5/8 as Ed mentioned.
