Norcold 1200  Icemaker

My icemaker has started adding more water than it should and is making ice-cycles down from the tray. Is there a way to adjust the amount of water going to the icemaker or do I need a new icemaker? Norcold 1200 in 2005 Monterey. Joe House

Have sent to Joe via PM a link to a great video that should help.  There is indeed an adjustment screw.

I'm hoping that Tim will approve the link for posting here for everyone to benefit, and perhaps put it in Coach Assist for future referencing, as it covers just about everything we'd want to know about those often troublesome icemakers, commonly the same in Norcold and Dometic, and in older residential refridgerators.

Am I missing something here?  Why wouldn't you be able to post that link here if it benefited others?  In fact why didn't you just post it instead of sending it by PM?

Because not all sites qualify under forum guidelines, and since I've been there, done that, I'm more sensitive than most.  I'm sure that sans some political advertising, the site and video are probably fine and linkable here, but I wanted to be sure first, so I opted to take the precaution of running it past an administrator first.  In the meantime I sent the info to the poster to help meet his immediate need.

Obviously my mistake was mentioning it here at all.

I didn't say you made a mistake I was just curious as to why you were reluctant to provide the link.  IMHO I could care less about the political views of a website if it has useful information.

Joe, when I had that happen it was because the water valve froze and was damaged...that required a replacement.  Than later I had to replace the ice maker assy with one from Lowes.  Now all is well.

Tim has put the video in the Seminar Presentations part (not in Coach Assist) of the Member Services section on the club's Home site, for future reference by those needing help with understanding or repairing their units.

Here is the direct link to the ice maker video:    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCUgA5T5ASw
