Replacement Of the Bendix Air Canister?
« on: October 15, 2013, 03:38:05 PM »
We have an 06 Monterey, with CAT C-9, and what I expect is the original Air Dryer Canister for the Air system.  It appears to be a straight forward job to replace the canister, since it is a spin on filter.  My question is, aside from dumping all the air from the air tanks and opening all four bleed valves for the system, back by the batteries, is there anything else I should do prior to removing the old canister and O-ring?    I assume I need a bit of grease or oil on the rubber gasket on the new air canister prior to spinning it into place?  Anything else I should be on the watch for, or should accomplish at the same time I change out the air canister?  The current canister is the Meritor WABCO System Saver 1200.
Thanks in advance
