Glenn,
Your coach should be running a Leece Neville 160 amp alternator.

Glenn,

Check the For Sale, Rent or Wanted by Beaver Owners board.  One is for sale that may work.

Glenn,

Not sure where you are but H&C Truck Electrical (http://hctruckelectricalservice.com/) sold me a new LN Alternator for my 99 Marquis last summer for a very reasonable rice ... $350 range as I recall.  They have both new and rebuilt units.

When my LN went out, I had a Bosch (Sp?) 240 amp put in my coach.  It did not require the exciter so we wired it down and taped it in case I ever had to go back to a LN.  I had the old LN overhauled in Oregon.  The new Bosch cost about $350 and the overhaul cost $275.  I keep it for a spare now.  As the higher rated Bosch has worked better than the old LN did, I don't know that I wouldn't replace it with a new one and only use the overhauled one as a back-up.  If you go another brand, make sure you don't need the exciter with it before you pull out of the repair facility.

Roy,

Do you have the Bosch PN for the Leece Neville replacement handy? It would be a good PN to post. What voltage does the Bosch run normally on your monitor screen while driving. The LN typically runs 14.1V on mine.
