I'm going to atempt to replace a bad valve tomorrow and was wondering what tricks if any to removing the valve controls in order to remove the panel?

I've had my panel out twice.  The second time I did not replace the calk since I assume I'll be doing it again!

I was able to replace the broken valve part without having to get behind the panel  :)
