House Batteries and REAR SLIDE
« on: March 16, 2014, 07:09:50 PM »
Yesterday I removed my four house batteries to replace them. I have not bought the new ones yet, but had put out my rear slide and decided to close it this morning. It would not close and I am thinking it is because the motor that operates it is 12 volts and without house batteries I do not have 12 volts to the motor. Could anyone confirm this an if I am wrong have any other ideas.
Thanks
Jim

My coach is a 2004 Marquis.  It has one bedroom slide, street side, that is operated by electricity.  The two living room slides are operated hydraulically.

I think the motor that runs the hydraulic pump for the front slides and jacks runs on the chassis batteries and the electric motor for the rear slides runs on the house batteries.  Both are 12 volt.   Except for the roof air conditioners, there are no motors that run on 120 AC.

Thanks, this is the rear bedroom slide that works with a small electric motor that I believe is just a auto window motor. I assume it will work when I get my house batteries back in.

Jim,
You're right. It runs on 12V. Need the batteries for it to work and be sure that are charged.
