Hurricane Valve Positions
« on: October 11, 2014, 06:47:07 PM »
I know I saw a diagram of the Hurricanes valve positions, whether heating water or heating the coach but I can't seem to find it in the manual now.  Can both valves be open at the same time or just one at a time ?   I know the positioning for heating the water, it's the coach heating I'm really wondering about and whether both  valves are supposed to be open at once?   Thanks

Heating domestic water (the short circuit) has one valve open and one closed.  Heating the coach and domestic water (the long circuit) closes the open valve and opens the closed - you still have one open and one closed, but just the reverse than for the short circuit.  You can observe the differences by removing the 7 lbs pressure cap to the Hurricane expansion tank and observing the amount of antifreeze coming to the tank.  The short circuit has a stronger flow (less hose to pump thru) than the longer circuit.
