So, we cleaned the drape from the old ('98) coach. Simply unhook and dry clean, reverse the plan and voila done, right? This time ('02) there was a pair of wires through the drape and no dry cleaner would touch it. What to do?
Well, you can't simply pull the wire through because it is so fine it would likely break. The solution we found was to cut slots every 12 inches in the backing where the wire is sewn in. We then made a 12" rod stiff enough to work through without too much pull on the wire. Tape the end connector on the wire to the end of the rod and pass it through a bit at a time. After dry cleaning we reversed the process and then tested the wire for continuity and reinstalled the drape.
Once every 10 years is enough but it looks great!
