Joel, Jim, John...

No set screw.. checked and re-checked.

On the bottom of the handle there is a blue and red Moen symbol. If that comes off (I don't know how) perhaps there is a set screw under there.

Thanks for the replies.

Stan, it is common for Delta and Moen to cover handle Allen setscrews with their logo/icon plugs, though usually where it is particularly visible.  Though underneath and not that visible here, if you do indeed see one, a fingernail or pocketknife blade may pop the plug/cap off.

All,

Just goes to show you they didn't always use the same manufacture. Mine is stamped B&K and my Coach is a 2005 Montery Laguna III.

Mine is stamped B & K too, but only on the face plate against the wall. The handle itself has a blue and red (I assume Moen) logo/icon on the underneath of the part that goes up and down and sideways to control the on and off and the hot and cold.

Stan,

I'll bet you pop that logo off, you will find a set screw.

Popped it off with a box knife, and sure enough, a set screw under there. On my way to HD to see if I can find a different handle/knob.

Hi Here is the photo, It tightens the same as the factory handle but the hole is deeper in the handle that the factory. Consequently you need to make sure there is a touch of clearance between the handle and the valve. I think I paid about $9.00 for it . Was a stock item at Home depot. Let me know how you make out. Jim

Voila!!

Thanks so much, Jim Edwards and everyone who posted. No more accidental scaldings from bumping the old handle!  :) :)

Edit: for some reason, pictures taken with iPhone show up here turned to the side (the handle is actually pointing down)

Hi, Great. Can you verify the part number in my previous post in case someone else asks? Thanks Jim

Jim,

The Home Depot Store SKU # 404344, that you posted is correct. The fellow at HD told me this # is universal for all HD stores.

Stan

P.S. While taking a shower this morning, I tested it by bumping it repeatedly, and was unable to accidentally, or on purpose, turn the handle to make the water hotter. Very satisfied.
