MY personal preference for locking the main door is the deadbolt. It's just more robust and secure from picking but means dragging out the key to unlock & lock it. I found a product that allows me to use the deadbolt as my everyday lock and have keyless access at the same time all without having to rekey the original locking mechanism. Now it is a bit pricey starting at $199 but for me it's well worth the investment. It's called the August Smart Lock I've had it installed for almost a year and love it.
