Back up camera replacement
« on: March 18, 2016, 04:45:35 PM »
I need to replace my back up camera, and possibly the monitor.  My original camera has a BNC connector and also a red and black wire connector which I'm assuming is power.  All the modern cameras have a red and yellow RCA connector.  Is there no power?  Typically RCA is yellow for video, red and white for sound.  Any help and advice is appreciated.

Adam,
If I remember correctly on my replacement, the yellow BNC is video and the red is power/gnd. Audio does not come from the camera. You'll need to get a BNC to Coax adapter for the new camera. Here's a post that may be helpful.

Thanks Steve. Yes,  I read that post and a couple others.  Assuming the red RCA connector is power, did you just cut it off and wire directly to the coach power supply?

Adam,
If I remember correctly  I found an adapter at Radio Shack or Frys. Maybe Gerald remembers as he installed the same camera.

Abam,
I purchased a BNC to coax adapter from Amazon for my rear view camera installation at the same time I ordered the camera.
