« on: October 03, 2016, 06:01:18 PM »
Does any one know then amp of the pressure switch for this system.  I have seen both 20 amp and 30 amp and not sure which is the correct one to use.

Comments appreciated.
Thanks

Keith

There have been many posts regarding the air leveling system installed on many Beavers during the Monaco era that were installed WRONG and have been causing MANY problems with the aux air compressor for this system.  Check valves were installed where they should not have been etc etc.
What happens is that the air compressor continues to run continuously and will not shut off except by cutting off power to both the chassis and house systems.  I have just gone thru this and have replaced several parts found to be losing air which triggers ON the aux compressor.  Do a search of Valid and or Power Gear systems. and you will get more info.  If you are the Bend facility make sure they check it ALL out before you accept it!!!!!  If not you better search it out.  If you need more info I have a lot of info also.

The pressure switch associated with this system can also go bad and that is what I was referring to. I want to replace it also but don't know the amp for this switch....it is either 20 or 30 amps.

Leah,
The layout for the 08 electrical bay shows that F52 is the Power Gear Compressor and rated at 20 amps.

Not wanting to question you but I looked at my 2008 schematics and could not find that pressure switch.  How did you determine it was 20 amp vs. 30 amp?  Have you had to replaced it on your coach also and thus you know.
I even looked at the 2007 schematics also...no could find.

Leah,
Assume you were addressing your question to me...

Here is the path to the fuse document:
-Private Members Only Board
-Select Link To Coach Assist Manuals post.
-Select hyperlink in first post.
-Select 2007-2008 Contessa wire diagrams.zip
-Select 08 Contessa Monterey Front Electrical Bay
-Go to page 5 of 9
In middle of page you will find F52, a 20 amp fuse for the PG (Power Gear) compressor.

Yes Steve it was you not Keith, sorry for the mix up in names.

I see the problem now...I was talking about the pressure switch for the Valid (Power Gear) System and you were talking about the "fuse" for that system. Anyway I found the amp for the pressure switch so I could order a new one.  This system has had so many air leaks it is unbelievable.  Monaco's installation of this system has really screwed things up for many of us.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it greatly.

Leah,
The air connections that Monaco used on our coaches are really prone to leaks at the connectors. I had a large number of them leaking when we got ours last year and had to take the coach to my mechanic as I couldn't access a few of the connections above the rear axle. With all the leaks repaired, the coach maintains air for long periods (days) w/o the compressor turning on. The connections on my coach appeared original.

STEVE
Were any of your air leaks the air bags themselves OR just the Valid/Power Gear system itself.
Seems like I just get one air leak of the Valid fixed any then another one shows up. Now it is the pressure switch of the Valid system.  If that doesn't stop them then I guess it has to go up on a rack to search for them.
But I have to be able to keep the suspension air bags up to get to a rack!

Leah,
A couple of mine were related to the bags. Coach would develop a pronounced list over time. Tom at Masseys in Phoenix did the shop work for me.
