While at Empire Cat getting the computer reprogrammed for larger tires I engaged the technician about our rv cats. He said I could not get more hp out of the c9. The 400hp c9 is rated for fire trucks and ambulances. They used to take it to 425 but no longer support the programing. Something about smog. Didn't fully understand until he showed me the computer screen and 400 was the limit. He said if any of us wanted to improve performance get more air to the engine. He would not commit to any type of filter but referred to the intake opening and the amount of tubing to the filter. Any increase on the air flow meter showing restriction after filter replacement and after say 200 miles your coach could use some modification. He has seen c12s c13s with to small of a filter like 11" cans ( filter ). Only on motor homes.  Tried to get his opinion on mufflers but just said air in air out.  And then it hit me that I was paying 140.00 an hour for his advice. Anyway real happy with my air in air out mods and these larger tires. Heading farther west next week and will report on my mpg.

That "aero muffler" rings a bell.  I looked back at the prior owner's "List of Improvements" and this is what I found:

"Engine air cleaner upgraded to AFE oil bath type and outside scoop installed.
Engine exhaust totally reworked and Aero Performance Resonated stainless muffler installed."

The scoop was removed before my purchase, but the AFE filter and Aero muffler are there.  My coach's prior owner must have run into that vendor at an FMCA rally, eh?

David,
can you take pics of your Aero Muffler set up and post them here.  My Donaldson steel muffler has an inlet on top and exhausts at the rear.  Thanks, Jeremy

I can take pictures, but not sure how to get them here on the forum.  Also, my coach is in Bend getting a physical after our five months of snowbirding.  Looking at the weather in Bend the coach may be staying there until next week.   lol   At some point, weather permitting, I will be going to Bend to fetch the coach and bring it home to Hermiston.  When I get it home I will try to get the pictures.

I put the Aero Turbine Performance Exhaust 5" Muffler AT5050 on my 2000 Beaver with CAT C12 and it sounds great and helped a bit on fuel mileage.

Marty I bought the AT505 muffler.  Can you show me pics of your installation?  Parts needed: 5 inch elbows : hangers , clamps and tip please.
