weep hole covers
« on: September 19, 2010, 01:30:49 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get weep hole covers for a 2001 Patriot Thunder?   I tried Northwest Supply and they don't have them.  I called the Bend service center and they said they did not have any of the old ones left but had some new aerodynamic ones that were $2.00 each.  I needed to replace them all since they look different, so I bought 30.  I have tried but they simply won't fit, so I will have to return them.  Any ideas as to where I should try next?

Roger,

I'm pretty sure that your weep hole covers are the same as the ones on our coach. Check out the picture to make sure. They are made by SE-GI in Norco, California and the part is #133 weep hole cover - black. Just to make sure they are the same, the dimensions are - length 3 3/4" with the outermost locking tabs being 3 1/8" apart.

I found the easiest way to order from them was to call directly at (951) 737-8320. As of 10/09 they were $1.29 each.

I am sorry, but what are weep hole covers.  I have some of those pictured, they came with my '04 Monterey which I bought used but I haven't been able to figure out what they are used for.

Bill-
I think they are talking about the black covers that go over the outside drain holes on RV windows.

I have replaced many of them but they always fall off again, even when I put silicone sealant on the tabs. I have basically given up, and frankly I see no real benefit to having them. Everything seems to be just as well without them.

Anyone care to comment?

I also have stopped being concerned about them.  When we got our 03 Contessa all but 1 were in place but they have slowly disappeared, from wind and mostly when I wash the RV.  I actually have about 5 or so that I won't even bother to put back on because they will just come off again. I don't see any negative side effects from them being gone.

The only time I missed them was in Oklahoma City in a strong wind, side blowing rain. Water did get into the window thru these holes on the windows that didn't have these covers. That was the one and only time it has been a problem and I still have not replaced them.
