Master Brake Cylinder
« on: October 16, 2010, 04:41:55 PM »
Hello.  Anyone know where I can get a front brake master cylinder repaired for a 2000 Patriot Thunder?  Nobody seems to have a part number for the unit.  It is so hard to find one, and of course I'm in a rush, as were stuck without a Coach!!!

Thanks for any help

Paul

Paul,
The best source for hard to find Beaver parts, especially parts for SMC era Beavers like yours, is Beaver Coach Sales in Bend Oregon. They will either have the part or they will be able to tell you where to get it. Unfortunately they will not be open until Monday morning. Call 800-382-2597 and ask for parts.

Henderson's may be able to help Paul, but I do not know for sure. The same master cylinder also fit some Safari coaches, so they may be familiar with it from past customers. It would be worth giving them a call at Parts 1-888-898-3281 ext 313

You did not give your location. Any good frame and axle shop should be able to  accomodate your problem and effect a good repair. Some of the cylinders are rebuildable.

You can allso try Navastar or Frightliner, as the master cyl is used on school buses and trucks.

Well here is an update for future reference Beaver / Monaco say's my coach has a Bosch Braking system which is only partially true, turns out the Master Cylinder is made by Midland a Haldex co. No stock anywhere in North America and 12 days to build one in their Laredo Texas plant hard to believe that a simple part like this takes almost 3 weeks to get....

Frustrating  to say the least.

I am still waiting for the part to be shipped 2 weeks now!!!!!!!!
