Misc Projects
« on: July 30, 2017, 02:08:32 AM »
We just returned from the first "Shakedown" trip with our "new" 1999 Patriot Thunder and I have several projects to take on.

1. The passenger windshield arm is a cheap replacement for the original and doesn't cut it. It floats up off the windshield in heavy rain. It is much thinner and not as robust as the original driver's side wiper arm. Does anyone have a recommendation for a vender for an original?

2. The speedometer needle fell off. I plan on taking it to an instrument repair shop. Does the speedometer come out from the backside of the instrument panel or the front?

Any previous experience or advice would be appreciated!
Thanks.
Paul.

Another thing I noticed on our trip was that the steering wanders a bit. Does the steering box have a worm gear adjustment that can be tightened up a bit?

Paul,
Steering box should have an adjustment similar to those on automotive steering box. Don't tighten it down too much as wandering could be due to other components.

On our last coach, the arm that attaches to the steering box had worked loose.  With all the dirt it collects it is hard to see so have someone turn the steering wheel while your hand is on that arm.  This took most of the play out for us.  We also added a safety plus steering dampener.
