Just got my coach and was told it had a built in surge protector. I looked and can't find it. Any suggestion on what brand of surge protector i should get. I thinking direct from the power stand then plug my line into it .

If you have something similar to one of these Surge Guard transfer switches (not one of the two basic switches shown), you likely don’t need any additional surge protection:

George,
The 2002 Marquis did not come with a surge protector, but it might have had one added by a previous owner, and if so, it is probably located on the ceiling of the basement, in-between the frame rails, and directly behind the fresh water tank next to your transfer switch.
If it turns out that you do not have a surge protector, my recommendation would be to buy a hard wired unit and install it where I suggested looking for one at. The ones you plug into the post and plug your cord into are enough extra trouble with getting it out and securing it against theft that many people fail to use them at times, and that is dangerous because it only takes one miss-wired post or lighting strike to cost you $$.
I have used a hard wired Surge Guard unit for 18 years in three different coaches like this one;
