Coolant leak up front.
« on: May 19, 2018, 02:24:29 AM »
I have a 2002 Monterey/350 ISC Cummins. I have had a small coolant leak up front that I decided to search out. It is located near center, above the generator coming from a small fist sized module? The “module” has several 1” or 3/4” hoses running to it as well as 12V. I suspect it may be associated with the dash heating controls? There are 3-4 hoses running into this unit. Possible electrical valve?
Can anyone identify this ,if so,repair or replace?? It’s very hard to access.
Any help we’ll be appreciated.
Thanks, Chris

Chris,
The link that David posted should help you, so I will not repeat it here. The end result is that you need to determine where the leak is and that can only be done while visually inspecting the coach. If the heater core is your leak, you can just get a hose connector, remove both hoses from the heater core nipples, and hook them together to bypass the heater core. this will stop the leak, but you will no longer have heat from the dash HVAC (heat, ventilation, and air conditioning) unit.
