Recently my wife decided to shampoo the carpet in our 2001 PT. When she got to the bedroom she asked me to help her tilt the bed platform up. It was all we could do to lift it and prop it up. So the strut solution that Fred Brooks posted in the past was needed. I had to order the struts and brackets from our local RV dealer because Fred's source, AP Products, is wholesale only.
We got the struts installed and tried to retract the slide, no go. I had read about that problem before so I removed the motor brake and the slide retracted. It looks to me like the gear reduction on the slide drive would keep the slide from moving. Is that motor brake really needed? Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks Fred, for the information on the strut project.
Thanks, Sam
