Satellite based Internet experience

I need a backup option for the Verizon Wireless MiFi card that works very well except when a lot of coaches (1000+) gets together.

I found this page
http://www.mobileinternetsatellite.com/Products/MIS_Satellite_Comparison.cfm
It looks like a good comparison.

What kind of satellite internet have you been using?

What to be careful about when selecting a system?

Is there a system that works on 12V or will all require 110V to be available to work?

We have a Datastorm Satellite Internet Dish on our roof.  We've had it since 2006 and love it!  The only problem are trees and mountains (on the south side) when the dish cannot connect to the satellite.

Bill Adams with Internet Anywhere was our installer.

It is $79.99/month and we get 375 mb/day download (~11gb/mo).
