Water Leak
« on: January 28, 2019, 04:20:22 PM »
I'm in Quartzite, and just dumped and filled my fresh tank last evening. This morning, I've lost almost all of my fresh water. It looks like it's coming back out of the fresh water intake line. There is pressure pushing the water back through the line. I'm assuming that since there seems to be no leak anywhere else, that it's the water intake check valve. Anyone with another diagnosis? Or experience the same thing?

George,
Sometimes overfilling can establish a continuous siphon flow out the overflow line. If water is coming out the inlet line and appears to be under pressure, the water pump is the only pressure source that I'm aware of. There should be a check valve that prevents water from returning out the inlet in any case.

George,
From your description, it sounds like the check valve in you water inlet regulator is leaking. The correction is to just replace the inlet regulator. They are readily available, and inexpensive, just a little bit of a hassle to replace on a Beaver because of the limited access without removing water bay panels. Here is a link to one on Amazon, or you should be able to locate one locally at Quartzsite.  https://www.amazon.com/SHURFLO-183-029-14-Chrome-Filler-Regulator/dp/B002OUPFOU/ref=pd_cp_263_1?pd_rd_w=bcBm9&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=Q03B57NPTZQT6ZWFT436&pd_rd_r=3ae400cb-231f-11e9-8398-b3ecd3f33b25&pd_rd_wg=x8vKi&pd_rd_i=B002OUPFOU&psc=1&refRID=Q03B57NPTZQT6ZWFT436

I added a hose plug that screws on, just to check and refilled the water tank. No leak. That tells me that it must be the check valve. I have the retractable hose, so the check valve is somewhere behind that. Qnce I get to another campground and have some time. I'll get to it. Thanks all.
