sliding wooden hall door removal / repair
« on: September 04, 2019, 03:10:47 PM »
Has anyone had any experience repairing/removing the heavy wood sliding hallway doors on older Beaver coaches??
I have a 1992 Marquis that has 3 identical recessed heavy wooden sliding doors in the hallway connecting the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.  The bedroom door apparently either came off the rear track or the track roller broke.  I can't see how to take the door down to repair it ????   Joe Magie

Joe, not sure if your sliding door system is the same as our 07 Contessa but if you have a wooden plate that covers the upper sliding track you should be able to remove the plate and disengage the door from the track.

Joe, As Bryan suggests, remove the valance board that conceals the side of the track. You will see where the door attaches to the trolley with a stud with a flat head, Pivot the white nylon retainer out if the way. lift the door just enough to slide the stud out of the slot in the trolley. If the trolley came off the door, it may have migrated down the tract out off reach deep in the pocket recess. Get a coat hanger and go fishing. Fred
