fuel regulator
« on: August 18, 2020, 09:36:26 PM »
I am doing the electric fuel pump upgrade to my 2006 Beaver Monterey with the C9 motor. Where is the fuel regulator located on my coach so  I can remove the screens as recommended by Dave Atheon ? also does anyone know the size of the fittings I need to  replace the plastic ones on the regulator ?
Thanks

Grant,
It is on the rear  (toward front of coach) of the engine. Go to the Technical Support board and select "Summary of Dave Atherton's Seminar." The write-up has a photo of the location.

I found the fuel regulator on the motor. Not going to be easy to deal with. It is recommended that i replace the Voss fitting. Does anyone know what type and size fitting I need to get before I attempt the replacement?  Are there any other tips I should know before I take the regulator off and remove the screens and replace the fitting.
thanks

Grant, good morning may I ask just what are you trying to with fuel pressure regulator. Do you have a low power problem or engine not reaching high rpm. On some higher hp engines the fuel pressure regulator has the pin size hole in the center on the regulator is what you want. On some updated regulators has a little screen in the center of regulator housing that needs to be removed and discarded. The reason checking the regulator some regulators did not have the pin size hole in center
of regulator that did not allow enough fuel to return back to fuel tank. Dave Atherton Retired Cat

Grant, my suggestion complete the electric pump install , than drive it. The reason ,first will
save you a few steps with having correct updated regulator. If you cannot get any power on
test Drive than will need to update fuel pressure regulator. If you have any problems I will
Walk you through the problem. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic

ok, thanks. I will wait until after i install the fuel pump. I thought it was a required action. As you can see I am catching up on some improvements to my coach while not travelling due to the virus.
