HWH level reservoir
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:02:14 PM »
Can someone tell me where my HWH level reservoir would be located on my 2000 Beaver Contessa?  The only reservoir I see is in my exterior compartment which houses my fuel filters etc.  Would this be the tank for the levelers?  If not, what is this tank for?  I had a blowout of my drivers side rear hydraulic line and had to listen to the low level buzzer for the past 200 miles.  Also can you tell me if the slideout powered by the same system as the jacks?  Thanks!

Brian,
I think that the leveling system reservoir on your Contessa is in the same location as the 2000 Patriot. If so, it is in the right side of the engine bay and just behind the basement compartments in the right rear of the coach. You access it from under the coach.

The hydraulic tank in the bay with your filters is for the engine driven hydraulic pump that powers the power steering and the side radiator fan.

Also, the kitchen slide and the hydraulic leveling jacks use the same pump and reservoir.

If you plan to add fluid there is a small vent type plastic cap on top and you will need a small funnel. Use Dexron IV or higher. Lower one jack only about six inches and fill till the jacks down alert goes off.  It is a two person job and one stays clean, as they let you know when the alert goes off.
