Wiper blades, again
« on: February 14, 2013, 09:11:40 PM »
I just discovered that the Amsoil/Trico has a website that permits you to select heavy duty wiper blades for trucks, buses and RVs:http://www.amsoil.com/AmsoilLookups/HeavyDutyTrico.aspx  It has Beaver models listed going back to the 90's.  What was surprising is that the recommended blades are $59 each for my coach.  In the past I've purchased any available blades of the correct size.  Does anyone have experience in buying these heavy duty blades?  Do they work better than their automobile counterparts?

That website also lists the Winter blade  T37245-EA for $20.15.

I get mine at Wal-Mart for about $7.00, and they work better than the curved higher priced ones available

I posted my issues on the forumn with wiper blades I purchased thru CW because I couldn't find the 36' blades that were stock on my Contessa.  They were terrible in that they did not conform to curve of windshield.  I finally ended up buying "boomerang" blades but also had to change the arms to accomodate them.  However, I am extremely pleased with them.  They stay on the glass and do a great job.  They are more expensive, but they work better.

Ditto.  Boomerangs do a fabulous job.

Leah,
We have the same coach as yours and are getting ready to replace our blades.  Ours only measure 31", not 36".  Did you change your length. Our 31 is stock.

Mike, we replaced the arm with 28". Now use the replacement Trico 45-280 blade refill. About $6 each at OReilly's Auto Parts. Also crosses with Napa 60-2800 and Anco 91-28. No loss in performance from the 31 inches it came with and very easy to get replacements.

I bought the heavy duty blades 36" long with a 1" saddle from Diesel Equipment Company. Supposedly they were the original Monaco supplier. 50-60$ a pair best I remember. You have to call them directly their website is not order friendly. www.dieselequipment.com  800-222-7159.
