Flooring and Weight
Jerry Carr:
I don't think you will have an issue, but do check your weights. Real tile or stone will add more pounds than carpet, and may push you over your max weights. Our '06 does have some room for added weight, but not much.
Joel Ashley:
Looks like Richard's thinking vinyl tile, Jerry. A recent issue of Consumer Reports rated a model of Armstrong vinyl highest for its realistic appearance: Alterna Mesa Stone Canyon Sun. It outranked all tested flooring types (they didn't rate ceramic tiles) except for one; Congoleum DuraCeramic Sierra Slate SI-74 Golden Griege, which outgunned them all in tests for foot traffic wear, scratch, stain, and dent resistance, and ultra violet light color change. ;)
Consumer Reports, July, 2012, pp. 30-32.

Richard And Babs Ames:
Our 1997 is one of the first slide outs and was overweight a bit with the original tires. We went through the axle move as outlined by Magnum to get the extra GVW in the tires so watching the coach "waist line" closely. Trying to caculate the wieght difference between tile, vinyl tile and laminate. Wife wants tile of course.
Joel Ashley:
Richard, I just weighed a single ceramic tile I have laying around, 1 ft. square. It is 4lb. 0.6oz. If you can calculate your total square footage needed, perhaps that will give you some idea of the weight for real tile - minus the approx. weight of any existing carpet and other flooring you'll remove, for total effect on your coach. Vinyl tiles weigh a little over a pound apiece, but may be a smidgen smaller dimensionally, 11 3/4" X 11 3/4".

Steve Huber:
Richard,
Weighed an unused box of laminate. Figure 0.7 lbs/sq ft.
