Awnings
« on: April 19, 2021, 04:49:49 PM »
Hi everyone, we are new owners of our Beaver Patriot Ticonderoga 2000 . We need some help getting the awning over one of the windows fixed . We were driving on the interstate and I saw the awning was out and blowing in the wind . The support legs are fine, what we can’t find anywhere is the spring and a way to repair the fabric . Any ideas, we really don’t want to just let this go without repairs . The local guy that’s trying too help us can’t seem to find a spring , that’s the first part .
Thanks everyone , we will see some of you at a rally .

What brand is the awning? Usually the retract spring is within the drum that the fabric rolls up on, the spring may have broke or come loose.

Scott,

If you have the same window awnings that are on my MH, they are A&E Systems by Dometic.

I am not sure if they are still supported, but that is at least some place to start.  They are listed as Elete, Deluxe plus window awnings, with universal roller tube assembly.  Dometic service center at the time was 1-800-544-4881, or in Canada 1-519-653-4390.  No idea if those are still good numbers.

Sorry I don't have any part numbers.  It is a copy of the installation and operating instruction that was in my coach when I bought it.  I am sure mine will need a little TLC soon.

When I was in Quartzsite this winter I had a torn topper awning
I called shadepro out of San Diego. I had Carefree of Colorado awnings of which they are a dealer
I ended up replacing 3 awning fabrics at a very reasonable price
I would try giving them a call, you can send them pictures and they may be able to help you
I had been dealing with a torn slide topper trying to contact Carefree at their factory  through the whole covid time. They had shut down.
As a last gasp for help I called Shade Pro and they were our awning salvation. They matched our existing awning color and fabric, fabricated  the replacement and actually came out and fixed it in the desert.
They will also send awnings and parts to you.
I cant say they can help you for sure but its definitely  worth a shot
This is a number I keep in the coach now as their turn around time is great, you can get custom awning fabric in a week, maybe faster if you tell them its urgent

I’m trying like hell to post pictures of my awning and , I keep getting told that one picture is to big to load . Does anyone know the secret to posting a picture in here ? This is without a doubt the hardest forum I’ve ever used m.

You will need to resize the pictures on your computer and then post them.  I believe that they need to be less than 300.  On my computer once you change one dimension it automatically resizes the other.

The Forum Assistance Board has instructions on resizing photos and other valuable how-to info.

I just went thru this on my iPad iPhone I took the picture saved it then went to add a photo to my thred .... I selected a photo in my photos and when I did it displayed the size on the bottom ie 3.2 meg.  I clicked on 3.2 and it gave 5 options for sizes I selected the size under 300 loaded and looks great.

For all things awning, call Ingrid at Stone Vos:

http://stonevoss.com/

I replaced my main slide topper with their fabric (and help via email) and we're good to go now.

Our '05 PT uses Carefree window awnings and slide toppers. The main awning is Girard.

Those at Stone Vos will know where you can get awning parts.
