Repair for freeze damaged Aqua Hot
Gerald Farris:
I was at BCS (Beaver Coach Sales) today and Ty showed me a system that they are installing as a repair for a freeze damaged Aqua Hot, or as a supplement to supply a higher volume of hot water than the Aqua Hot unit alone can supply. The unit is a stand alone heat exchanger.
If your Aqua Hot unit suffers freeze damage, you just block off the fresh water loop in the Aqua Hot, and run it through this heat exchanger that the Aqua Hot heats instead of replacing the entire Aqua Hot unit. It can also be installed in an undamaged system to increase the hot water flow well above the 1 1/2 GPM (gallons per minute) that the Aqua Hot unit is designed to deliver.

Orman Claxton:
Thanks Gerald
I talked to BSC about that last year,
I think that might be the way to go, Has it been tested properly?
Gerald Farris:
Orman,
I will be back at BCS next week and I will ask some questions, like the number of coaches that it has been installed into and the number and types of complaints.

Larry Fisk:
I wish I would have known this sooner. I have a friend who just had a brand new aqua hot installed because of this problem on his old unit. This was very expensive, your fix sounds a lot more reasonable.
Larry Fisk:
He was shocked to find out Aqua Hot will not repair your unit if this happens. Their only option is to sell you a whole new unit. Don't let them freeze!!
