Repair for freeze damaged Aqua Hot

<< < (2/2)

Sean Donohue:
Actually depending on the model there is a repair I read about on the internet that requires removing the unit, opening it up to access the 50' copper tube and cut, splice and solder the ruptured area.  I have not seen nor done this procedure, but if I was in there and pulled a copper unit out, I would look at fabricating a stainless tube replacement, if I were to be living in really cold climates ever again. Given the price of the unit, I don't think there is anything to lose trying it.

Orman Claxton:

Depending on the Aqua-Hot model.Unless Aqua-Hot has changed  policy, They will rebuild your system,
I will varify w/ aqua_Hot factory and post a follow up

Larry Fisk:
Thanks Orman, that would be good to know. I'm not sure about his but I think his coach is a 2008 model. He contacted the factory and was told it was not rebuildable. Replacement was his only option. So he went ahead and ordered a brand new unit. Now to make sure it is properly winterized this winter, that's the key..
