On our coach the bedroom slide is electric and has a brake on the end of the slide motor to prevent the slide from moving.  When the switch is engaged to move the slide either in or out, then the brake is concurrently disengaged.  When the switch is not engaged, then the brake is always on.  I think I have this correct.  But our coach is a 2004 Marquis, not a 2006.  Someone with a more modern coach than our 2004 model can chime in here if my understanding is incorrect, or if your 2006 is designed differently.

Mark, we had our driver's side bedroom slide move in while parked. If your slide is hydraulic you can make a slight adjustment to the solenoid by tightening the nut on the end. The pump manifold has a solenoid for in and one opposite it for out. Our hydraulic hoses had labels identifying each one. The fill cap is plastic and has the socket size molded on one end. You do not want to use a socket and ratchet as you may damage the needle and/or seat. Lesson learned by me.  One solenoid can cost $150.  Now if your's is electric I am of no help!

The bed I used to think was the only one that is electric.  That's the way our '06 Monty is configured.  Otherwise Jim would be on track.  But seems awhile back someone had one that wasn't electric after all.  Nevertheless, assuming yours is the more common build, others here have dealt with cantankerous brakes thereon, but not me.  Reckon to be not much help here, and can only speculate the brake isn't engaging, bowing to others with experience there with.

If the bed slide runs normally by grinding away slowly when extending and retracting and sounds like its motor is underneath the bed, vs. the front slides' relatively smooth, quiet, and speedy glide in or out, then it's likely electric.

I believe the slide is electric! In my search for storage I built a cover under the bed, need to remove to verify. The slide mech is a jacks crew! Will let you'll know!

When our coach had its bedroom slide issue in Nov 2015 I was able to help with the repair.  As I recall the slide motor is 4" or so in diameter and 6" long.  On the end of the motor opposite the drive end is the brake.  The brake looks like a hockey puck that slides on two small bolts coming out of the end of the motor.  A couple nuts or thumb screws hold the brake in position snugly against the end of the motor.

The Forum here has a couple prior threads regarding the brake, and what was done to make repairs.  You might try a search to find those threads.  In your case it could be a burned out brake unit requiring replacement, or simply the nuts have loosened and the brake unit has moved away and even fallen off from the end of the motor.  It could be an easy repair if the brake is causing the problem.
