Koni Shocks
« on: August 16, 2013, 12:45:55 AM »
I have been trying to locate shocks in the Dallas area. Unable to find a dealer. I need Koni 90 1968SP1. Any suggestions where to purchase these shocks?  My shocks are ok except the rubber mounts need to be replaced. Is it possible to replace only the rubber mounts?

Gary,

Why do you think that it is just the rubber mounts?  The rubber mounts are molded to the shock mount and not normally a wear problem, nor are they easily replaceable.  I you have the original Bilstein shocks, they can be replaced by sending them back to the factory.  They normally do not rebuild them, but for a nominal charge replace them.  You will have to pay shipping to them and back to yourself.  I would highly recommend the Koni's.  They are far superior IMHO to the original shocks.  You can order Koni RV Shocks from www.koni-na.com or call (859) 586-4100.  It would be rare to find a dealer with your particular shock in stock.

Good luck,

If the shocks are still good just replace the rubbers. You can buy them at most good auto parts stores, If you want to buy them online here is a web site - part #421120.  http://www.shockwarehouse.com.

Good news.  I was able to order the rubber mounts from Koni.  The old ones were a bear to take off.  The rubber mounts were rusted to the studs.  My shocks are adjustable. After I got the shocks off, I found they were not set the same. That is why The  front end dipped on one side, so I reset them the same. Hope this corrects the problem, and also my front tire wear.  Thanks for your help.
