Silverleaf VMS320 Screen Banding

My Silverleaf VMS320 started banding today while on the road. It has maybe 10 horizontal bands of Amber across the display that are about half brightness. I can still see the display information behind the band but it is about half as bright and hard to read given you have lost the dark to light contrast in the amber display where the bands are. Anyone seen this problem before or found a cure?

I did a fair amount of rapping the unit, wiggling the connector, dropped power with the ignition switch, restarting it without any affect. I called the tech at Silverleaf and he indicated that he had not seen this problem before. So this may be new ground unless one of our forum folks has been as lucky as I have. One more thing, if anyone has sent a unit in for repair what range of cost was it to have them work on one of these units.

I guess I could be a candidate for one of the computer interface systems if all else fails. I will be watching for more posts on that subject.
