Bose Invisable Amp Needed

<< < (3/4) > >>

Edward Buker:
Steve,

These are series wound motors, try reversing the leads after verifying that the 12V positive leads would be isolated from any grounded frame. The motor may be mounted in plastic plenum which could possibly work also. If reversing directions would provide the air flow that you were looking for you still may be able to get there from here.....

Steve Huber:
Ed,
I thought of that today. Motor housing is metal. Will check tomorrow w/meter.
BTW, forgot to mention in earlier post that I replaced the 3K ohm external resistor on the amp based on Bose's advice and so far so good.

Edward Buker:
Great on the Bose, good luck on the blower.

Steve Huber:
Ed,
Thanks for the tip re reversing the motor. Tried it today and fan blew like it should! The new squirrel cage with the reversed canting on the blades helped some and the reversed motor rotation fixed it completely. Will leave the motor on the new relay circuit to get max voltage.
Thx again!
Steve

Edward Buker:
"Tays in the wind"......your wife better fasten her seat belt :-)
