Bedroom Slide Issue Resolved.....Our Forum Assistance

I'm sitting here at Premier Coach where they have just wrapped up my slide fix.

Once they got inside they found no problems with the roller and it just looked like the slide bottom had developed a groove from the rollers.  So I said to myself...didn't I just see a fix for that on my earlier posting.  Dug back and found the post and there was Ed's detailed resolution so I emailed the link to the office where it was printed out and they just followed the instruction to a perfect resolution.  Eric got a kick out of the instruction manual and said he was going to cut a couple more shims and put them in inventory in case another Beaver cam in with the same problem.

We than pulled in the slide and found the front was also a bit low....3/16 or so.  At that point I said let's make it perfect so they made another shim 1/4" thick and installed it also.  Just about perfect.

We used a paint line as a guide and now the rear is right on and the front is up perhaps 1/16"

Waiting for the silicone to cure and I'll be on my way.

Thanks to all who helped and especially Ed for providing such a detailed fix.

Dick,

Happy when a plan comes together. My experience with this fix to date is that the slide is not settling further and that the fix has held up quite well. If the slide did continue to settle, you would then be able to add shims as needed. I encourage all of us Beaver owners to document fixes to our coaches for problems we face as they get older. They are great rides and we would be hard pressed to find better coaches in the current market. "Long Live The Beaver" :-)
