Fuel Filler hose "leak"

  So as not to hi-jack Roy Boles post this date in general discussions about his results in dealing with replacing the filler hose with exhaust tubing to minimize foaming and splash back this post deals with a leak in the same filler hose.  Following Fred Brooks advise I removed the right front fender panel which gave me clear access to the filler hose.  In so doing, I discovered that the filler hose curls around the gravel guard then onto the tank.  The filler hose was in firm contact with the gravel guard and over time the gravel guard wore a hole into the filler hose resulting in a leak when I topped off the tank.  Now that I have easy (motor home style) access changing out the filler hose and enlarging the opening in the gravel guard to avoid contact will be a relatively easy fix.  It should be noted that unless the tire and gravel guard is removed or the easy way as Fred Brooks explained, removing the fender, the filler hose cant be seen.  I do plan on removing the fender on the other side to be sure the filler hose is not rubbing on the gravel guard.  Bonus in removing the fenders is that it gives to visual access to the hydraulic jack, at least on the passenger side.  I guess you don't know what goes on behind closed doors until you open them. Tried to rotate the attached pics to the right but couldnt do it.

Just as a heads up. Typically, when you take photos with an iPhone, they will appear sideways when you download them on your computer or tablet to post here. To turn them upright, first "view" them in the pictures file or wherever you saved them. Then use the photo viewer to re-orient them by turning them clockwise. When you close the file after re-orienting it, it will remain in the upright position, and is ready to be attached here.
