2008 Patriot Thunder AC problem
« on: June 26, 2021, 01:17:16 AM »
I arrived at my coach in Happy Trails and it seemed warm when I walked in the door. I keep all 4 zones at 78 degrees. As I walked into the living area it was cooler. I went to the thermostat and zone 1 is blank. Zones 2,3 & 4 appear as normal. I had the front and rear ac units serviced within the year and the center unit replaced. Any ideas? Also, can anyone recommend a mobile RV tech who services this area? Thanks in advance.

David, suggest cleaning the telephone communication connector with electrical spray located inside your AC. I attached a picture below. Also check the 5 amp fuse located inside your AC on your roof. Hope this helps

Yes, but you might have a more elaborate ceiling cover of your AC that will have to be removed.

David
If yours is like ours you have two islands on the ceiling.  I don't recall if the bolt is 1/2 or 9/16 but a socket on a medium extension can remove the lag screws from the driver side.  There are two.. The panel just swings down.
You may need someone to help hold it up to reinstall the screws.

   David,
If you still have the "5 button dometic" thermostat try doing a reset. Turn the t-stat off at the bottom switch. Hold down the Mode and zone buttons at the same time. While depressed, turn the t-stat back on. If all is good, you will see "FF" in the display if not you will see "EE". This reboots the t-stat to all attached zones. Incidently, when you had the center air conditioner changed did the technician toggle the zone 2 dip switch to the on position so the t-stat can recognize it? Hope this helps, Fred

Fred, I reset. When I turned back on I did not get letters, but toggled over to zone 1 and everything was there. Nothing turned on even when I dropped the temp to 60.   I cycled through the modes for each zone and gor a/c from 3 a/c units. Thanks much!!!
