Middle A/C trips breaker
« on: August 16, 2023, 03:36:58 PM »
2008 Beaver Contessa.  We are in Lewiston, Idaho with temps above 100 and the middle A/C trips frequently.  It will run all night in cooler temps without tripping.
Was wondering if a run capacitor could cause that?

Check the voltage on your shore power pedestal with the 3rd ac on and off. My guess is shore power drops with 3rd ac on.

Could be but also could be a weak breaker. Try switching breakers and see if that resolved it.

I replaced the breaker yesterday, cleaned the coil with foam cleaner today.  We just got back to a tripped breaker.  I pulled the cover off the breaker box and checked the amp draw, which was 21 amps.

21 amps is certainly excessive.  I would suspect a bad capacitor.
