2000 Marquis wheel rim specifications
« on: November 12, 2012, 06:14:42 PM »
Hi Gerald,
I  had the Beaver weighed at the Ecapees RV park in Livingston TX.  They were very thorough.   I have dual rims that have 8.25 width with limits of 120 psi,and weight capacity of 7250.
This means that the 11R22.5 's are fine but I cannot upgrade to the 295 80R22.5 that I have on the front as these tires require a rim of 9.0 width .
I cannot find the stamped  specs on the tag or front rims.  Do you know the specs for these rims ???
Escapees seem to think I should not be running 295 R80 22.5's on these rims, unless they are 9.0 width.!
I was going to upgrade all tires to 295 80R22.5 .
Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
             Thanks,   Jeremy

Jeramy,

In case Gerald is busy, Michelin for example on their XZA2 Energy tire 295 80R 22.5 lists both 8.25 and 9inch as approved rims. Just one example, not trying to sell any tires here... Clearances would have to be checked.

 Jeremy,
All eight wheels on your coach are the same 8.25 inches in width, and will run 295/80/22.5 tires well. The only difference in your wheels is that the rear inside duals are 8.25 inch steel wheels instead of aluminum.

The front axle on your coach will be overloaded with 11R22.5 tires just as all tires on my 2000 Marquis were because it is a 40 foot with no tag axle. When I weighed my coach with the 11R22.5 tires that it came with, all tires were overloaded at 120 PSI except the left front. Your coach may be able to run 11R22.5 tires on the drivers and tag since you have the extra pair of tires to support the load. You may even be able to buy the 11R22.5 tires cheaper since they are a very common size for trucks that are limited to 20,000 pounds per axle, as opposed to the nearly 24,000 pounds that is on my drive axle.

Hi Gerald,
Good to know I can run 295 80R22.5's all round, even  though Bridgestone specs sheet says the 295 needs a 9.0 rim.
Michelin say we can use either 8.25 or 9.0 so I believe the same applies for the Bridgestones.
               Regards,  Jeremy
