I replaced the t connector with a brass compression type having a brass Ferrell I got from the truck place. Don't know the brand but it looks solid. Does not leak. After two days sitting I still have 65 # pressure. I will consider this problem fixed. I worry some about the remaining 20-30 old fittings in service but maybe they will keep working.

Good job, now you only need about fifty more, I carry a few spares just in case, most times by removing the tube and cutting off a 1/2" will cure the leak, but it seems like they always come back.
