Traveling to Anchorage this summer. Leaving about middle of June for 2+ months. We are looking for others to join us. We lived in Anchorage for 32 years and have traveled the Alkan several times once in December to buy a car. Would not recommend that in a MH. PM me if your interested.

We are also heading to Alaska this summer.  Entering Canada around June 1st in Montana.  Would be nice to meet sometime but we travel slow and only drive about 3-4 hours a day.  We leave late and stop early.   No agenda except we will be in Denali for 4th of July week.  Other than that we wing it.

Thinking of traveling East to West on US 2 from Michigan to Montana.  Any experience with this route?  Things to look for or look out for?  Best point to enter Canada from Montana?  All our annual work is done and the Beaver is just about ready to go.  Still on track for 1st week of April departure from Central Florida.  Thanks

Jerry we travelled west to east on highway 2 in the USA and entered Canada at Salt St Maries 2 years ago. This is a great road. Suggest 3 major stops. First Theodore Roosevelt NP in North Dakota in the town of Madora.Great cg in town and wonderful Western Show and bbq.Second Glacier NP in Montana then go north to Waterton NP in Canada then onto Calgary then onto Alaska via the Trans Canadian highway #1. Have a great trip.

We travelled west on US 2 last fall from Lake Itasca which is where you can find the source and headwaters of the Mississippi River.You can enjoy wading across the Mighty Mo!

 We enjoyed the entire trip and stopped often along the way. We enjoyed Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the huge reservoir at Ft Peck which may be the largest earthen dam in America.we camped here overlooking the reservoir which has an 1800 mile shoreline.It is beautiful country.There is a very fine Lewis and Clark Interpretive center here and in the 1930's they built an entire town here to work on this reservoir.
 
There is a lot of focus on Lewis and Clark and a lot of history. Harve Montana is interesting as there is complete town underground that they have preserved from 1900's when the town burnt to the ground and the people all lived underground until they could rebuild. There is a nice Buffalo Jump also in Harve. We parked at a little golf course there on the west side of town and dry camped a couple days.

Out in Idaho there is a little known museum named after a Doctor Bird that invented the iron lung and the artificial respirator still in use in every hospital in the world today.It is stocked full of items he and his wife collected thru out the world and inventions with the original patent applications.

Of course there is Glacier Park which cannot be ignored and takes some time to see.Ride the Red Bus!
