Best route from Flagstaff to east side Zion NP

Planning trip in Beaver Contessa from Tulsa OK to Zion /Bryce and then North to Green River UT and finally into Lake City, CO.  We have been to Lake City before, meeting up with friend for the Alpine Loop. We have never been to Zion, thinking to go via Page out of Flagstaff and stay on the east side.  Taking 7 yr only granddaughter so have to find parks with pools.  Any suggestions or experiences on this route is appreciated.

Going into resign from Flagstaff you'll have to go interstate 15 to get to Zion I don't think your coach will fit through the tunnel from that side

Don't know about parks on the East side of Zion, but I wouldn't take a 40ft coach into the park from that side. Aside from the tunnel (very high pucker factor) the road is very twisty and tight with very unforgiving rock walls on the passenger side. Just fine with a toad but too much of an adventure with the coach, your passengers might enjoy the sights but you won't enjoy the drive.

Thanks your remarks.  We would stay on the east side and take the jeep in.  Any body taken the route from Flagstaff via Page over to Hatch in the past couple of years.

We ran it about 2 yrs ago but took UT 9 just south of Oderville to get to I15. Good roads then.

I did this about 4 years ago and took US 89 to Page then Kanab then Mt Carmel Junction head west on route 9.  At the time Zion park required a reservation for escort thru the tunnel for large motorhomes they will shut down traffic and escort you thru the middle of the road in the tunnel. I decided not to do this and camped outside the east entrance to the park.

To get to Bryce canyon back to 89 at Mt Carmel head north on 89. 89 is a good road all the way.
