Harlan,
The motor is under the dash on the firewall. I'm not sure where yours is exactly located but on our 00 Marquis, it was above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. They are easy to remove but be sure to put mark on the blower and the housing it's mounted in to ensure correct alignment when you reinstall it. Also mark the 12v and gnd wires to be sure you re-connect them correctly since the fan will run if you hook them up backwards but you will get very little air out of the vents. Replacement motors are available at most auto supply stores.

Mike Flowerday replaced one of our dash fans a few years ago.  He went through the push-release doors near the floor mid-way between the pilot and co-pilot's seats.  Of course, he had to pull out the Bose, DISH receiver and satellite-dish control boxes.  He reached through the opening, 1 1/2' wide by 1' high.

I think both both dash fans were there, side by side.  It took him about 45 minutes by the time he got the doors and boxes out of the way, changed out the dash fan and replaced the boxes and doors.

I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if you put in the VDO PM129 blower in the dash? I have searched and some claim that the wheel is too deep. I didn't want to order the wrong one. I also would like to have the correct blower in hand so the RV doesn't have to sit for a long time all torn up.

Greg,
The 129 is the one I use in my 00 Marquis. I didn't have any depth issues.

On my 2002 Thunder, it was behind the two drawers of the center console. Kind of a snot to get at but is doable. It is a common GM blower motor. Take the squirrel cage of your old motor and install on the new one. Pretty simple, just a pain to do. Marty

I have no idea what the blower fan ID is that Mike Flowerday replaced in our coach.  I sat on the couch and chatted with him while he did the change.  lol

Ok, I have the top of the dash off, the drawer out, the Bose unit out, the two bottom wood screws that hold the heater heat exchanger by the floor and two long wood screws at the back of the cabinet. I don't t see anything else to get loose, yet it's as tight now as it was when I started. Am I missing something obvious?

Ok, update:
I found two more wood screws. I'm impressed by whoever built this. I'll take a few pictures and post them later... the whole cabinet now slides back.
Thanks Greg
