Sealand/Dometic 3110 Serires Toilet Repair or Replacement
« on: July 03, 2018, 02:33:48 PM »
The control module in the toilet appears to have gone bad.  The mechanical mode switch on the right top of the unit is broken.  I called Sealand and the control module is no longer available.  I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience.  Has anyone had any luck getting the switch replaced?  If not a recommendation on a replacement toilet would be appreciated.

Thanks
Don

There is (was) a control board for sale in the "For Section" of this forum.

 :) For $475 I think I'll go with a new toilet.

Yup - but maybe guy will take less (if he has had no offers and is just sitting on the board).

There's a "Control board" in the toilet?  ???

Last thing I would have expected in my 18 year old coach I've had for less than 6 months..

Now, I guess. I will dub thee:  Smart $*****.

Yes, and I assume it's the Magnum Opus like ours.  It has a toggle for service and operate.  In service, the ball moves out of the way so the drain hole can be easily cleaned.  The second toggle is for low, medium and high water depth after each flush.  In the low position, not much water is used for flushing and refilling... like for dry camping.  In the high position, each flush uses most of a gallon of water... like when parked in an RV park with FHUs (Full HookUps).  The bowl is flushed by gently pushing down on the handle.  Water can be added to the bowl by gently pulling up on the handle.  These johns probably were expensive... even at the turn of the century!

If the problem is simply a broken toggle switch, it seems like any reputable electronics repair facility could solder one in for you.
