Radiator hoses

Does anyone have the sizes for the big radiator hoses for a 2006 beaver Monterey with a C9. Iam also installing a new metal overflow tank and was wondering where to get the large hose that is connected to the bottom. I am  replacing the antifreeze with cat ELC.
Also does my Beaver have a coolant filter and if so how do I eliminate it.

For the hose your best option is probably take measurements and go to a truck shop, (big Trk) On my C13 the water filter had valves, just close them.

Grant, there have been discussions about some negative effects in changing to Cat ELC on engines that did not originally come with ELC. We changed our coolant to ELC after 64k miles and have had no issues and we currently have 190k miles on our Cat C9. The radiator hose on our C9 from the overflow tank to the radiator was about 6.5 feet but measure the length and ID of both ends to be sure. Also check the remaining  4 to 5 small hoses because they are now approaching a replacement window.

When our coach was brand new, that hose failed.  It looked older than the rest and we suspect it had come from another, used, coach somewhere along the production-to-dealer line.  Under warranty, Monaco replaced it with one of superior quality made locally around Harrisburg/Junction City.  As Lee mentions, you should have a reputable local truck shop custom make one to fit.  Ours was improved in the process so it didn’t rub on anything anywhere along it’s route, unlike the original.

Thanks for the replies. I have all but one hose off the engine compartment. I will get it off tomorrow. Looking at going with HPS hoses with the spring clamps. If I have a water filter where would it be located ?  Not sure if my 2009 monterey came with one. My antifreeze is red in color, so I assume it is ELC.

I'm 99% sure your coach did not have ELC when new. I'm not sure if or when they converted. If they did it was after 07.

I switched my C13 to the ELC coolant too. I don't know if you have a coolant filter or not, my Coach did.

I just bought a new filter (with no "chemical charge"). It is a Wix 24070.

Some recommend removing the entire filter assembly and hoses to eliminate "one more place for leaks", but I just installed a new filter. I don't object to filtering the coolant (whether needed or not) and it was easier than removing all the hoses and plugging outlets.
