In normal operation with batteries at full or float the green lamp on the inverter should blink slowly, maybe 8-9 second intervals. A steady green lamp means it’s bulk charging the batteries, and a 1 second flash interval means Absorb charge. 2 second intervals indicate you don’t have shore power or genset power and it is inverting 12v battery power to AC. Fast flashing implies a problem/fault… check the remote’s screen over your entry door.
A word of caution…
do not press the reset while plugged into shore power! Reset only when on battery power. Bin there, dun that; I hung a laminated warning tag over the inverter to remind me next time. Read the instruction manual. If you don’t have one:
https://www.magnum-dimensions.com/sites/default/files/MagArchive/64-0007-12-04-MS-Manual.pdfNot sure about the whining. It might be a bearing going out on one of its 2 cooling fans (they are variable speed), or the fans may be just working harder if you’re in a hot environment. It will shut down if it gets too hot.
You might try calling Sensata/Magnum at 1-800-553-6418, 7am-5:30pm Central time, but I’m not sure that is still operational as I’m not seeing it on their website. We used to have to wait in Queue for long periods, but their tech was excellent once we got through.
