Need help to ID rubber line please
« on: Today at 12:41:40 AM »
I was trying to ID the supply and return lines going to my generator. My generator is located at the driver's rear of the coach. Those lines are both marked "Larence USA", that was easy to trace. There is another rubber line about the same diameter, but it has no logo or markings. I noticed this line has a "bulge" about every 12 in. I crawled under the coach, but I can't locate the line. It doesn't seem to run to the engine. There are hard plastic air lines, high and low AC lines, and a large amount of wiring. Is there a schematic for all the different lines somewhere? It would seem logical that the line is under pressure since it has soft bulges on the line. Whatever it is, it's going to be a lot of fun to replace. Thanks

I suppose it could be the high side AC line. I've read posts where folks have had the same issue.

"Supply and return lines going to my generator"?  Do you mean fuel lines or power cables?

Your generator is located at the rear of the coach?  Hmmm... Our generator is located at the front end.  I thought most, if not all Beavers had their generators towards the front to separate the generator noise well away from the bedroom.

Yes, the generator fuel lines. I knew the propane furnace wasn't working when I bought the coach. I've had diesel heaters in my tool trucks for years. I love them. I replaced the propane with a 8 KW diesel. I need to figure out which is the generator supply line so I can tee off that line for the new heater. The supply and return are identical. I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time. My coach is titled as a 2000, but the build date is 6/99. The generator is right under the bedroom lol. I believe Beaver/Monaco started with front-mounted generators soon after that. I'm positive there are people on the forum who know for sure.

The gen set fuel lines originate at the top  of the fuel tank in the center, front  of the tank and run inside the frame rails to the rear.
If your coach had been built with an Aquahot boiler there would have been a yee in the fuel lines to tap fuel off to the Aquahot burner.

Brian,
Assuming the conversion was done to match the OEM layout, the generator supply line should enter the fuel tank at about 1/4 point from the bottom of the tank to ensure the generator shuts down before draining the tank.

Appreciate all the info. I know which 2 lines are the generator supply and return. I can follow them on the frame....to a point. I don't know which is which by the time it gets to the location on the frame inside the storage bin. I'll remove the feed side on the generator and cut 1 of the 2 lines. I've got a 50/50 chance of getting the correct line the 1st time. Worst case, I'll have to splice the line with a brass barbed barrel if I find  I cut the return on the first attempt.

I did I.D. the other line with the bulges. It's the hydraulic line for the slide ram. Happy I found it in my backyard instead of at a camp site on the road. I'll search the forum to see if I can find the pump location and start the fun process of replacing the line from the pump to the slide ram. This is when I'm thankful I only have 1 slide.
